Progressing from simple forging and turning to more advanced techniques we will explore traditional and modern techniques using forge hammer and anvil. Please wear natural fibers, long sleeves and pants and closed shoes (traditional blacksmith working cap optional). Ages 18 and over (16 if taken with a parent who will be your teammate). $75 Materials Fee applied at check-out.
Roff Harroff has been studying metal forging and forming since her pre-teens. This led to teaching metal during high school at the Nashua Arts and Science Center. Attending Philadelphia College of Art, Roff studied metal with Richard Rinehardt, Leon Lugassy, Sharon Church, ceramics with Bill Daely, fiber with Warren Selling as well as wood and sculpture tech. After Roff studied shell forming with Helen Betty Longhi, Michael Good and Heikki Seppa. Switching gears for a time Roff studied blacksmithing with Peter Ross and through Waldorf teacher training.
