Discover the art of lampwork bead-making! First melt glass by using a torch or “lamp”. Once molten, the glass is rotated around a rod or mandrel forming the base bead. Using a specialized torch to flamework soft glass beads students will learn different techniques to create a collection of beads with a variety of patterns and shapes using glass rods and select variety of hand tools. Now, as novice lampworkers add swirls, dots, flowers and many other patterns to the base creating a unique design.
