You'll make a small collection of paper toys and gifts, most of them easily sent through the mail. These projects include a flexagon, a spinner, a magic wallet, and other simple but fun structures. The focus will be on making models with commonly available materials that can later be adapted for use with a variety of papers and personalized content. This class will meet online via Zoom. Stephanie Wolff works with paper, text, textile, and the book form. Her projects often explore themes of weather, history, and rural life. Her artist books have won awards and been exhibited in the United States and Germany. They are included in 500 Handmade Books, Volumes 1 & 2 (Lark Books) and held in public and private collections.
