Learn acrylic painting techniques by painting pet portraits from reference photos. (Sorry, no live models in this class!) You’ll learn about composition, color, tone, texture, and application techniques. You’ll also learn about how to make artistic choices so that your portrait expresses the subject’s personality. Beginning and more advanced painters are welcome.

Sarah Maxell Crosby is a painter and mixed media artist based in Vermont. After making her first art sale at age 12, she used the proceeds to pay for oil painting classes (though now she prefers acrylic). She studied art history at Dartmouth (BA) and the Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London (MA). These days she spends much of her time painting commissioned pet portraits.
