Soft Sculpture (P24)

Instructor: Rachel Montroy

Explore the world of soft sculpture by experimenting with a different material each week. The materials that you'll explore in this class will include fabric, wool, paper, and more! No prior experience required, but more advanced techniques will be introduced for those with some knowledge of soft sculpture techniques. $12 Materials fee applied at check-out.

 

Rachel Montroy is a mixed media sculptor living in Hopkinton, New Hampshire. She exhibits her sculptures regionally and nationally. Rachel is an advocate and pioneer of craft, working as the Education and Community Outreach Coordinator at the League of NH Craftsmen where she is also a juried member. She is a long time educator and adjunct professor at Saint Anselm College and the New Hampshire Technical Institute and a faculty member at the Currier Museum Art Center. In 2006, Rachel received a Bachelor of Art in Studio Arts with a concentration in Ceramics from the University of New Hampshire. In 2008, she received a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramic Sculpture from the School for American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.
