CANCELED Steel Tabletop Sculpture using Gas Forge + MIG Welding (P23)

Explore the visual world of steel sculpture, then imagine, design and build a tabletop sized work of your own. Using steel sheet, wire, and rod, you will begin developing skills and use existing skills to create a three-dimensional sculpture. With your appetite whet, this eight-week class will continue as part-two during the Summer months. For Adults, Teens (16 and up), and teachers interested in Professional development. Beginners and more experienced welders welcome. $85 Materials fee applied at check-out.

 

Roger Goldenberg is a professional artist of 30 years, having earned a BFA (UNH) and MFA (UNC-G) degrees, in addition to a B.S. in Geology (UNH). Roger has participated in two research expeditions to the continent of Antarctica. After a brief stint as a field geologist, he became carpenter, and soon after, a self-employed cabinetmaker. As an artist, Roger is painter, printmaker, sculptor, and arts educator for students of all ages. Roger established the performing arts and creativity workshop called In Ears ‘n’ Eyes, LLC. He and this ensemble qualified to be on NH’s prestigious Teaching Artist Roster, teaching and performing throughout Northern New England. In 2007, Roger was introduced to AVA as a printmaking teacher and subsequently taught drawing, watercolor, and mobile making. From 2017 to the present, Roger has been the Sculpture Program Manager at AVA. As of April 30, 2023, Roger is resigning as an employee to resume his full-time career as an artist and educator.
